Mirage
MIRAGE (2025) is an immersive audiovisual live-coded performance exploring the core tension of Digital Trace: the unstable boundary between the visible and invisible self, and the ways technology transforms confession into code. MIRAGE is situated between a performance piece and an interactive installation, where the audience is both an observer and an active participant.
Building on the "show us your screen" methodology of the live coding community, the audience is invited to see "behind the scenes", and peek over the performers shoulder as they share their code and process live.
The audience is invited to "step inside the algorithm," allowing their gestures, movements, and spoken words to become data that is captured, transformed, and returned. Through this feedback loop, MIRAGE reveals how human presence becomes quantifiable information and how algorithmic systems simulate intimacy while quietly accumulating personal traces.
